As many of you may have experienced, parts of Eagle Crest lost power for a few hours Friday early evening on August 16th. A bird was caught in the Pacific Power Lines at the end of the driving range causing a large “boom”. Yes, that caused the electricity to go out. Here is the rest of the story.
A spark started a fire at the base of the telephone pole amongst the dried cheat grass. A neighbor was outside, saw what happened and ran with a full watering can of water to the scene, dowsing the flames as best they could. Since the can of water wasn’t enough, they proceeded to stomp out what was left of the fire.
Quick actions by neighbors prevented a catastrophe as this fire could have easily spread through the dried cheat grass and into a Juniper Grove.
Reach out to your neighbors and thank them for what they do for our community. Let’s search for the positives and congratulate well done’s, making Eagle Crest a place to live we all enjoy.
