RECOA has formed a subcommittee to study the effects of short-term rentals on our community and propose policy options. Over the years, some homeowners have seen a rise in safety, excessive noise, improper trash disposal, improper parking and other violations of RECOA rules.
Short-term rentals are rentals of residences lasting 30 consecutive days or less.
Short-term rentals are often rented through a third party service such as Airbnb, Vacaso, or VRBO.
At this time there are about 270 short-term rentals in RECOA, or 15% of all residences. Most are located within managed neighborhoods.
Around 200 residents of Eagle Crest completed a survey regarding Short Term Rentals. Here are the results from the survey.
